Show them this page and explain what CubeCraft is. Not every adult understands games, so take your time explaining it. This is the first step for everything on this page. Not the last one, and not the one you do only if it gets worse. If you do not understand something here, ask a trusted adult to read it with you, or ask our moderation team. ||| If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services. We are a game server. Tell a trusted adult. 2. Block them. See [Staying safe on CubeCraft]. 3. Report them on whichever platform it happened on: in game, Discord, or the forums. 4. If it is serious or it continues, post in the [Player Safety](https://www.cubecraft.net/forums/player-safety.124/) forum with as much detail as you can. --- ## Harmful files and links Someone sending you files or links that could damage your device or steal your account. ||| Never open an unknown file or link. You cannot tell what it does by looking at it. 1. Tell a trusted adult. 2. Do not open it. If you already have, tell an adult straight away and change your passwords. 3. Report them on the platform it happened on. 4. Post in [Player Safety](https://www.cubecraft.net/forums/player-safety.124/) with the details and any evidence. --- ## DoS and DDoS attacks If your internet keeps being knocked offline, someone may have your IP address and be attacking your connection. People get hold of it by tricking you into opening a bad link, or by getting you to join their own Minecraft server. 1. Tell a trusted adult. They may need to contact your internet provider. 2. Restart your router. Many home connections get a new address, which stops the attack. 3. Post in [Player Safety](https://www.cubecraft.net/forums/player-safety.124/) with as much information and evidence as you can. --- ## Doxing Someone sharing your private information, or threatening to. 1. Tell a trusted adult. 2. If it is appropriate, report it to your local police. 3. Report them on the platform it happened on. 4. Post in [Player Safety](https://www.cubecraft.net/forums/player-safety.124/) with as much information and evidence as you can. || Screenshot what was posted before it is deleted. It is much harder for anyone to act once the message is gone. --- ## Someone asking for photos or sending sexual content ||| Never send images of yourself to anyone online. If someone asks you for photos, the answer is **no**, and the next thing you do is tell a trusted adult. This applies whoever is asking, including someone you think of as a friend, someone who says they are your age, and someone who has been kind to you for a long time. **If someone is asking you for images, sending you images, or sharing images of you:** 1. Tell a trusted adult. 2. Stop replying, and block them. 3. Report it to your local police. This is a crime and it is treated as one. 4. Post in [Player Safety](https://www.cubecraft.net/forums/player-safety.124/) so we can act on our side. ||| Do not send us the images. Not to a moderator, not in a report, not as evidence. Tell us what happened in words. We can act on that. | **If it has already happened, you are not in trouble and it is not your fault.** People who do this are practised at it, and they target many people at once. Being tricked by someone whose whole purpose is to trick people is not something you did wrong. ### Warning signs worth knowing Someone may not ask for anything at first. Tell a trusted adult if a person you have met online: * asks you to keep your conversations secret, * wants to move to a different app where nobody can see, especially one with disappearing messages, * asks how old you are, when you are alone, or whether your parents check your device, * gives you gifts, ranks, Minecoins or in-game items and then reminds you about it, * tells you that you are more mature than other people your age, * gets upset, or threatens to leave, when you do not reply quickly. None of these on its own proves someone is dangerous. All of them are worth telling an adult about. ### Getting images taken down If an image of you is online and you are under 18, these services can have it removed: * [**Take It Down**](https://takeitdown.ncmec.org) — works internationally, and you do not have to send anyone the image. * [**Report Remove**](https://www.childline.org.uk/info-advice/bullying-abuse-safety/online-mobile-safety/remove-nude-image-shared-online/) — run by Childline and the Internet Watch Foundation. --- ## Concerns about a team member We hold our team to a high standard, and that includes how they behave away from the network. If you have seen a team member behave improperly, tell us. Post in the [team feedback forum](https://www.cubecraft.net/forums/staff-feedback.53/), or email support@cubecraft.net if you would rather it were not public. | Report it even if you are not sure. You do not have to be certain, and you will not be in trouble for raising something that turns out to be nothing. --- ## Anything else If something has happened that is not listed here, post in [Player Safety](https://www.cubecraft.net/forums/player-safety.124/) with as much information and evidence as you can, and we will help you from there. --- ## What we do about it Anyone found to be involved in harassment, bullying, discrimination, hate speech, spreading harmful files or links, cyberattacks, doxing, or sending or requesting explicit content can receive a **permanent network ban**, and where appropriate we pass their details to the police.
