# Report a player

||| Read the [reporting guidelines](https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/.175577/) before you start. Reports that do not follow them are denied.
|| Reporting is for rule-breaking. If something has made you feel unsafe, see [Staying safe on CubeCraft xxx].

### Contents
* Report in game
* Report a Java player
* Report a Bedrock player
* Needed evidence
* After my report

Two ways to report. Use both if you can.
| | In game | On the report site |
| ---- |
| Speed | Immediate | Usually a few days |
| Evidence | Not needed | Picture or video; see below which |
| Reviewed? | Only if a moderator is online | Always |
---
# In game
1. Type `/report <playername>` or `/sr <playername>`
2. Choose the reason that fits best.
3. Submit.

|| If several of you saw the same thing, use `/sr <playername>` instead. Sentinel reports need multiple independent reports before they trigger a review, so a group of players reporting together carries more weight than one report each.

# Evidence

Video evidence can not be edited in any way, this includes ${color}[#ffbb00](slowing down) or${color}[#ffbb00]( adding text) to it.

Video evidence is required for:
* illegal clients,
* teaming,
* exploiting and bug abuse,
* trolling,
* camping and griefing, and
* bounty or kill farming.
||| A screenshot is not enough for any of these.

For everything else, a screenshot showing ${color}[#ff0000](all four corners) of your screen is enough.
---
# What happens to your report

| Status | Meaning |
| ---- |
| ${color}[#ff8040](Open) | Not yet reviewed |
| ${color}[#008000](**Handled**) | Accepted. The player has been punished |
| ${color}[#ff0000](Closed) | Not accepted: incorrect, unconvincing, or the player was already punished |

Every report gets feedback.
* Java: Select the reported player's name to read it.
* Bedrock: Select the report thread and read the reply on the bottom.

| We do not tell you what punishment the other player received. That is their data, not yours.

To discuss how a report was handled, message the team member directly: see [Contact the team xxx].
