Map submissions

What are Map submissions? 🗺️

Map submissions are how community members get their own builds featured on the server. If your map is accepted, it is added to the game rotation and you are credited inside the map itself.

There is no deadline. Map submissions stay open for the foreseeable future, and there is no limit to how many maps you can submit.

Before you start building, read the full Map Submission Guidelines. They contain the exact size, generator and player count requirements for every game mode, and they are updated more often than this article.

Which game modes are accepted? 🎮

We currently accept maps for:

  • EggWars
  • BedWars
  • SkyWars
  • Lucky Islands
  • Pillars of Fortune
  • Survival Games
  • Free for All
  • Duels
  • BlockWars CTF
  • BlockWars Bridges
  • MinerWare
  • Disasters

We are not accepting maps for:

  • Any game duels, such as SkyWars duels, EggWars duels or Lucky Islands duels
  • BlockWars Giga (Teams of 50)
  • Parkour

Submission rules 📏

Every map must be made entirely from scratch by you or your team. Builds cannot be copied or downloaded from external sources. Plagiarising a submission will result in it being denied, and may result in a moderation punishment on your forums and Minecraft accounts.

You must also:

  • Follow the map submission guidelines to the best of your ability.
  • Stay within the map dimensions listed in the guidelines.
  • Stay within the limits on generators, chests, landmarks and other features.
  • Provide evidence of your build process.
  • Only resubmit a map if it was previously denied and you have made significant changes based on the feedback.
  • Not use alt accounts to vote on your submission, and not offer anything in exchange for votes.

Reviewers may deny a submission even when it meets every criterion, for example if they suspect plagiarism or have concerns about gameplay or appearance.

Build evidence

Evidence is mandatory. Without it, your map cannot be accepted, so start collecting it before you begin building.

Provide one of the following:

  • A video of your build process. Sped up footage is fine.
  • At least 10 screenshots showing your progress from start to finish.

Take a screenshot every time you make meaningful progress. If you forget to collect evidence, the submission cannot go ahead.

Schematics 🧱

Some game modes have strict size and shape requirements for certain parts of the map:

  • BedWars
  • Pillars of Fortune (Java and Bedrock)
  • BlockWars Bridges
  • MinerWare
  • Survival Games

Download the schematics from our Map Submissions Notion page and build on top of them. Blocks in the schematics are colour coded to show what is mandatory, what is recommended, and what marks pits, pillars and glass ceilings.

You need World Edit to load a schematic. Full instructions are included in the guidelines thread.

Where to build 🛠️

  • Java Edition with World Edit or Axiom is recommended, as it gives you far more powerful building tools.
  • Bedrock and single player worlds are accepted. If your map is accepted, we only need the world file, which you can access on the Windows 10, iOS and Android editions.
  • Realms are accepted, as they allow you to download world files.

Sharing world files from Xbox and PlayStation may be very difficult or impossible, so we do not recommend building your map there.

You may use blocks from recent Minecraft updates. If we do not support that version yet, we will store your map and add it once we do, although this can delay implementation.

How to submit 📬

Submit your finished map using our Map submission form.

Your submission is then posted in the Map Submissions forum, where the community can vote on it and our team reviews it.

Building with friends is welcome. Just make sure everyone who worked on the map is credited in your submission.

After you submit ⏳

  • Advice before submitting: we can help you understand the guidelines, but we cannot give building advice. This keeps the selection process free of bias.
  • If your map is denied: we try to give detailed and constructive feedback. We do not expect professional builds, but maps do need to meet a minimum quality standard so they fit alongside our existing maps.
  • If your map is accepted: there is no set time frame for it going live. We try to bundle accepted maps together with game drops.

Rewards and credit

A sign is placed inside the map crediting everyone who built it. Beyond that credit, we do not currently give in game rewards, a special rank, or official builder status for accepted maps.
