Q: The resource pack won't download

Our games send a custom resource pack. When it fails you will see missing textures, blank menus, or a download error on join. <h2 id="trytheseinorder">Try these in order</h2> <ol> <li>Check you have free space. The pack cannot install on a full device.</li> <li>Clear the stored packs. On Bedrock, open Minecraft Settings, then Storage, and clear all cached CubeCraft resource packs. Play with friends

Add someone as a friend to see when they are online. Put them in a party to make sure you land in the same game.

Add a friend

Three ways, all equivalent:

Select their avatar in chat: right-click on Java, tap and hold on Bedrock, then choose Add friend.
Open the social menu from your hotbar in the lobby.
Type /friend add <playername>.

Your friend receives a request and can accept or decline. Use your social menu or the command /friend pending to see requests you have not answered.

|| Gamertags with spaces: replace each space with an underscore when typing the command.

Create a party

Invite someone with /party invite <playername>, or through the social menu.
They accept with /party accept <yourname>.
Walk into any game portal. Everyone in the party joins with you.

Party members follow the leader between games and can chat separately from Team and Global chats.

How to join CubeCraft

You need a legitimate copy of Minecraft. Cracked accounts and third-party launchers such as TLauncher cannot connect, and we cannot help with them. Download Minecraft through www.minecraft.net/download.

Which edition am I on?

Bedrock Edition:

Can be played on devices other than a computer,
Has a marketplace button, and
A number of multiplayer servers already preset.

Java Edition:

Can only be played on a computer,
Separate Minecraft Launcher window opens before the game starts, and
Once started "Java Edition" will appear below the Minecraft title.

Open the Servers tab.
Select CubeCraft, then Join Server.

Which version do I need, and how do I update?

Java: 1.21.8 and above. Bedrock: 1.21.120 and above.

Which version am I on?

Bedrock: the version is printed in the bottom corner of the main menu. Bedrock Edition: Home Screen

Java: the version is shown next to the Play button in the Minecraft Launcher, and in the bottom corner of the in-game main menu.

Updating Bedrock

Bedrock updates through whichever store you installed it from: Microsoft Store, App Store, Google Play, Nintendo eShop, PlayStation Store, Xbox Store or Amazon Appstore.

Open that store, find Minecraft, and select Update if the option is there.

If no update is offered, your device may have automatic updates paused, or your platform may not have received the release yet. Console releases can lag a few days behind mobile.

|| On a Preview build? Preview is a separate app from Minecraft, and it cannot join. Open the normal Minecraft app instead.

Updating Java

Open the Minecraft Launcher.
Go to the 'Installations' tab.
Either select an existing installation of 1.21.8 or above, or select New installation and pick the version from the dropdown.
Select Play.

I can't connect to CubeCraft

Accepted Answer

"Outdated client" or "Outdated server"

Your game version is not one we support. See [Which version do I need, and how do I update? xxx]

"Outdated server" usually means you updated before we did. That gap is normally a few days after a major Minecraft release.

"You are blocked" with a code starting with C or V

This is a connection block, not a ban on your account. See [Why is my connection blocked?] for what it means and how long it lasts.

||| It is automatic, it cannot be appealed, and nobody on the team can shorten or lift it.

"Not Authenticated with Minecraft.net" (Java)

Fully close and reopen the Minecraft Launcher.
Sign out of your Microsoft account in the launcher, then sign back in.
Try again.

||| If you use a cracked or offline launcher, including TLauncher, you will always get this error. CubeCraft requires a legitimate account and there is no workaround.

If you own the game and the error persists after a restart, the problem is with Minecraft's authentication rather than with us. Contact Minecraft support.

"Invalid session" (Java)

Restart the game. This generates a new token/key allowing you to access Minecraft's multiplayer services. If restarting does not work, sign out of your account and back in.

| If you also see "Authentication servers are under maintenance", Mojang's login service is down. Nobody can connect to any server until it returns.
